Styles Fine Lingerie

StylesFashion.com was founded and created by Scott Goetchius, the author of Salt, a novelist and freelance writer, an award winning essayist and nationally known performance poet. He had long envisioned an apparel store like no other, with fashion selections from the best designers around the world, a place where customers could shop for the finest haute-couture, bridal gowns, pret-a-porter, designer jeans, fine lingerie and hosiery, swimwear and a range of fashion accessories, shoes and boots and sandals, and even fashion magazines. But the investment was beyond his reach. So, he turned to the Internet, and in 2000, he placed his first site, StylesFineLingerie.com online, with over five-hundred active links to lingerie and hosiery designers and distributors, and, yes, even trade publications, in more than forty countries worldwide. The response was enormous, over fifteen million unique visitors in the first year.

Then, in September 2001, while enroute to his niece’s birthday party, Scott had the idea for StylesFashion.com, a plexus of six web sites linked to the finest designer fashions in the world, a directory now linked to over six thousand reputable designers in more than sixty countries - and the listings continue to grow.

StylesSwimwear.com went online in 2002, followed by StylesDesigners.com, then StylesAccessories.com, and then StylesShoes.com. Now, Scott’s vision is a reality, fashion has a hub and a home on the worldwide web, a place where people can 'SHOP AROUND THE WORLD.'

Ryan Walsh is the graphic designer and technician whose expertise has given Styles a sharp, open look and user-friendly format. He began working with computers at age eleven, after a hip injury put him on crutches for a few years, leaving him plenty of time to disassemble a few systems until he finally figured out how computers work.

PC's became an easy hobby, as well as computer games and music - which brought him to a drummer friend in college who was working on a website for his band. Ryan caught on quickly, and found that he had a knack for web graphics. After a year or so of playing with the technology, he found opportunities to earn income with the web and began researching site construction, macromedia flash and database backend technologies.

A "jack-of-all-trades" in the computer field, Ryan works as a network and systems consultant, builds high end PC's and servers and keeps his web development skills honed working on the StylesFashion.com sites.

Laurie Rivera is the affiliate manager who creates a synergy between aesthetics and technology here at Styles. She discovered the Internet in 2000, with the encouragement of her husband. He thought she would enjoy having the ability to fulfill her desire for knowledge at the touch of a button, and she has since found parenting, ecology, gardening resources and communities, and an abundance of information to feed her passion for the earth.

To express herself in those communities, Laurie created her own web pages, and in that learning process she gained a knowledge and familiarity with coding for formats and imagery. Her expertise further compliments the StylesFashion.com mission as a collaborative on-line environment for fashion industry consumers, designers and distributors, artists and students of all languages and cultures. Laurie brings to Styles the ideal of a continuous structure, world-wide, for emerging Internet information in regard to fashion.

Laurie enjoys digital photo editing, and photographing her gardens and her three young boys. She is impassioned about the earth and its inhabitants, about discovering their subtleties and contributing to their protection and enrichment.
